RAMON - BRACHIOCEPHALIC SYNDROME

Rafael Segarra

September 27, 2021

Surgery

This syndrome consists of an elongation of the soft palate, narrowing of the nostrils and trachea, eversion of laryngeal saccules, and malformation of the nasal turbinates.
It is more common in breeds called brachiocephalic (pugs, bulldogs ...).

Surgery consists of resection of the soft palate and widening of the nostrils. This helps reduce regurgitation, snoring, and breathing problems in these breeds. It also reduces the risk of heat stroke, a pathology very typical of races as you name them above.

From now on, Ramon will enjoy his walks more and will have a better quality of life.
